In the years since high school, I have really come to appreciate what a great blessing it was growing up in Escondido when I did and my years at Orange Glen high school.
I have so many great memories of friends and good times, travelling weekends in the band, and all the great friends I made there. If you guys are reading this, God bless you wherever you are now!
After high school, I went to UC San Diego for a BS in mechanical engineering. That took 5-6 years, and then after graduation I had a year of unemployment because no-one was hiring in aerospace in 1993.
It was a good year for me though, because it was the year the Lord really called me back to him after years of backsliding. I started going to Emanuel Faith church in Escondido, with Pastor Greg Sidders college&career fellowship, where I was being equipped to become a fully-devoted follower of Christ. This changed me completely into a new man, and I thank God for that, even though it was a painful transformation.
After my year off, I got my first job as a real engineer working in Norco (Corona) for the DoD/US Navy as a civilian employee. I worked there for 2 years before getting a job in Huntington Beach with McDonnell Douglas. MD was bought out by Bo...Expand for more
eing in 1997, but I have been in the same job ever since.
After moving to Orange County (or "the OC" as the kids call it today), I lived in Irvine and started going to Mariners church, where I was baptized with my best friend, Richard Goodwin, in March of 2002.
I have since become involved in several different ministries. I like being involved in missions trips especially. One ministry I am regularly involved in is called Estado 29, which is an orphanage in Baja, near Ensenada. Google "Estado 29" if you are interested, Classmates wont allow posting links.
Also, in November 2003 I had the privilege of going to Honduras with Habitat for Humanity to work on a home for a lady named Blanca in the town of Siguatepue. It was a great trip! (If you saw my picture in my profile, that's where it was taken, near a local waterfall.)
Now I am now working on a Masters degree in Apologetics at Biola University in La mirada for about 2 years. It's like a mini-seminary degree, and it is awesome.
Overall I'd have to say that God has been very good to me, and that I am still working on becoming who He has created me to be more and more.
So, what are you doing these days? Write to me and let me know!
My parting thought for you:
"Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart." -Psalm 37:4
Dios te bendiga (God bless you),
