Richard W.'s Story

I'm an independent film producer/director, film historian and novelist. My latest novel, "What Really Frightens You Too" is available on amazon in paperback and ebook. A group of students make a documentary film about the paranormal. They discover a haunted tenement where each room leads to another location including medieval England during the witch hunts, a sex club for those who like a taste of the 'other' and a graveyard with amorous corpses. Who will survive? My third novel, "The Anastasia Killer" is available in paperback or ebook on Amazon. It's a thriller about a Russian dating scammer who not only cheats her marks, she kills them. She's on the loose in New York. Have you been contacted by her? The book features a twist ending. My second novel, "REEL DANGER", is also available on amazon and barnes and noble in paperback or ebbok. It's a thriller and political satire. A corrupt politician is running for re-election but is haunted by his past. While he was in college, he appeared in a porn movie being shot in his dorm. He had the negative destroyed but a print might have survived and he will do anything to get it back, including murder! This turned out to be a timely tale with the recent scandals involving Anthony Weiner. My first novel, "PRODUCTION VALUE", is available on line in paperback and ebook. It's a suspense mystery thriller with a movie theme about a dangerous film shoot where people get shot and killed. Type in: "Production Value by Richard W. Haines" t...Expand for more

In 1986, I formed my own production company, New Wave Film Distribution, Inc.. I've directed eight features as of 2009. My last movie was the heist thriller, "Soft Money" which is reviewed on the Film Threat website. My new film, "What Really Frightens You" is completed and ready for release. My other feature films include "Unsavory Characters" (2001), "Run for Cover in 3-D" (1995) starring Adam "Batman" West, Ed Koch, Curtis Sliwa, Al Sharpton and Heather Graham; "Head Games" (1993) starring Christopher Stone; "Space Avenger" in 3 Strip Technicolor; (1990) "The Class of Nuke Em High" (1986) and "Splatter University" (1983). The last three became cult films. I travel the world to promote my films including China, Russia, Sicily, Canada and Israel. Most of my films are available on line. You can log onto the Internet Movie Data Base for a complete list of credits. Between productions, I'm a writer. I wrote the books, "Technicolor Movies" and "The Moviegoing Experience 1968-2001" both published by McFarland and Company. I also wrote articles for "The Perfect Vision" , "Widegauge Film and Video Monthly" and "Film History" magazines. I did the comic illustrations for the Children's Picture Book, "Animal Kingdumb".
