Lived in Palatine most of my formative years in the big old red farm house next to the old 7-11 at Palatine Rd. and Linden. Went to the old high school and have never seen the new high school as I moved to Arizona in August 1973 to attend the University of Arizona. Went to UofA until 1976 when I moved to Kona Hawaii and worked on a charter fishing boat as the deck hand. Caught many a big fish that year, our largest was 982 lbs. My captain and I went out to night fish for tuna, for some extra money, and managed to hook up 2 broadbill marlin or swordfish, turned out these were the first caught on sport tackle in Hawaiian waters, so we got our picture in the paper and some salt water magazines. That was a fun time, but Hawaii is too expenive to live, even in 1976, so I returned to UofA, met my future wife, married and graduated (B of FA) in 1979. ...Expand for more
