Frederick's Story
Life
My Spouse:
I moved to New Jersey in 1978 to play with a musical group of guys that I met at Franconia College in New Hampshire. I met my wife, who worked across the street from the bank where I worked during the day. We got married in December 1981. My wife Diane has stood by me throughout my health problems (I received a liver transplant in Sept. 1999), and I am very grateful that she is in my life. We have one daughter who turned 23 on September 12, 2007.
My Pets
I have four dogs! (ok I'm crazy!) I have two Dobermans, one of which is a puppy which we recently bought to show, and a Miniature Pinscher. My wife and I raise and show Dobermans. They are a big part of our family and our life. One of our Dobermans, Tina passed away earlier this year. She was an AKC conformation champion. We miss her dearly. We lost our male champion, Flyer in early 2004. Our new puppy "Turner" is as handsome as he is sweet.
My Kids
My daughter is very artistic, has a beautiful singing voice, and a big heart! Her art teacher has nominated her for the Art Honor Society. During her senior year in high school she joined the US Army reserves. After graduation she went into basic training but develpoed stress fractures on both legs. The Army chose to release her with an honorable discharge for medical reasons. She came home and went to a community college for a few semesters, then she went into the Disney College Internship program as a character performer. She is attended Montclair State University in the spring 2006 semester majoring in Theater. I am very...Expand for more
proud of her. She took time off this year (2007) because her boyfriend, Michael who she met in Florida proposed marriage in the spring of '06 and they married on November 18, 2006. She hopes to return to college in the fall of '07.
Workplace
After graduating from American University (got my AA from Franconia college), members from the Franconia's Jazz-Rock ensemble Bakoda joined together to play and compose music professionally. So, most of my initial jobs were not career-based. In 1980 I went to work at City Federal Saving Bank and worked my way up from being a teller until I managed a customer service department for mortgage and consumer loans. The job involved both customer relations as well as loan accounting and compliance with Federal loan laws and regulations. Because of this background I was hired by the Dept. of the Treasury; Office of Thrift Supervision to work in ther Consumer Affairs Department located in the North Tower of the World Trade Center. The job also involved Federal Compliance issues. We moved to Jersey City about 18 months later and I became a Federal Compliance Examiner, evaluating banks for compliance with Federal banking, lending, and non-discrimination laws and regulations. I evaluated the banks' compliance with the Community Reinvestment Act also. I loved my job. Later, much later, I became ill with Hepatitis and was put on the list for a liver transplant -which I received in 1999. I have not returned to work yet due to the treatments I have to take for the disease. I am hoping to return to work as soon as I can.
