Rick's Story

Life I graduated from ISU in 1978 and got a degree in Computer Sciences 4 years later from UI. I am now an independent computer consultant. I married a beautiful woman from Western Iowa 25 years ago. She hasn't kicked me out... yet. I don't think it is my smile, so she must be crazy. She mutters that often. Dalene, my wife, is now the Director of Undergraduate Studies and a professor in the Statistics department. Most of the time, she is smarter than me. I hear she is a great instructor. We have alot of students coming by the house. My son recently graduated with a Masters degree in "Entertainment Technologies". Sounds great, but don't ask me what it is. It makes him happy and that is what matters right now. He has recently found himself a crazy beautiful woman, also. Hope his luck is as good as mine. Recently, I have decided to take a break and cut back on the consulting and am going to contract my own house...Expand for more
, well, really my wife's house. It should be fun. We bought the land, now we have to dig a hole or something. Where is that book? 2009 Well, we are living in the house I contracted. Dalene, my wife, loves it because it has plenty of light to grow her plants year around. My son marries a beautiful woman, who is German and Swiss in background. The Richardson men just can't get away from those beautiful Germans. Two years later, they are having my first grandson soon. I am working on starting two companies, both technology based. I have to stay pretty flexible because my wife keeps getting job offers from other universities. Though I think the house won this last round... I lost my father a few months after we moved into this house, 2003. I lost my mother last year, 2008. When did we get this old? Late 2009 I have a grandson! Yeah, I know many of you have them, too. Show-offs! This is my first and I am having fun.
