Rita's Story
Life
I moved from Norfolk, Virginia a few months before graduating in 1963. I never received my annual from Granby so I have a hard time remembering faces! After completing high school in Macon, Georgia, I volunteered to become a U. S. Navy Wave. I met my husband when we were both stationed in Charleston, SC. We married in 1965 and eventually had two daughters and now two young granddaughters. My college degree took years to complete as I juggled motherhood with being a student and wife. I worked as the executive director of the local museum where I have lived with my family for the last 22 years. My husband and I are both retired and life is very good. I look forward to hearing from past friends.

't work but attended colleges part time while my children were young. I've worked for an independent furniture designer; a painter for Tom Clark's Gnomes; and as a professional artist. I retired as the Executive Director of the local museum where I live now. I have an A.F.A and a Non-Profit Management from Duke.
Military
Charleston was the only place I was stationed while in the Navy. I worked in the records dept. of the Personnel Office for the NAVSTA (retirements, re-enlistments, reassignments, etc.) Then I became the assistant to the Captain of the base. I had lots of fun there: pitched for the girls softball team, sang in the chorus group, volunteer work, met some great people, even represented the base as Miss Flame for a year!
