Rita's Story

Life After All Saints I attended Detroit School of Business and Wayne State. I worked for a law firm downtown and then worked for Andrews Brothers at the Produce Terminal. From there I moved out to California and along with my brother Manuel bought a Travel Agency in Santa Barbara. About a year later we opened a second office on the campus at UCSB. After selling the Agency, I moved back to Detroit and worked in the travel industry and met my first husband, Robert. We had our first date in April 1985 and married that December. We moved to England, where he was in charge of European operations for his company. April 1986 we returned home for a visit and Robert had his annual physical. y at Caniff Electric in Hamtramck. Robert went through chemotherapy and radiation treatments and fought very hard but our life ended in July 1987. I continued to work at Caniff and in 1990 I met Michael Badalament. Michael & I married in May 1992 and this year we will celebrate our 13th Wedding Anniversary. No children, but two lovable dogs, Macallan (named after my favorite scotch) and Meggs. I have recently started a home business. I'm an Independent Consultant for Arbonne International. It is a Swiss based Company dealing in pure Swiss skin care, nutrition and aromatherapy. I also still have my hands, at this time in bookkeeping. My family has spread itself around the country and Rina & I are the only two from the original ten that still live in the Detroit area. So far life has been quite an adventure and I'm looking for "the more to come".
