Rito's Story
Life
My wife (Liz), our four-legged child Rosie, and I moved to Kingston (Ontario) in June of this year.
College
Needing a career change I went to Loyalist College (Belleville, ON) and successfully - and with an A+ o/all average - completed their 2-year Developmental Services Worker and Advanced Pharmacology programme. I graduated in June 1995.
Workplace
After first expecting to go work for a government, then working in business-2-business at a trucks parts company, then managing stor...Expand for more
es of the 2 biggest burger-flipping companies, I found my niche: working with special needs children and mentally-challenged adults. The transition required more schooling (which I got) and perserverance to get that spot in the ever-tightening Ontario school systems. But I did it! And love it! I have for more than 7 years now been an Educational Assistant in Ontario schools; helping students in Kindergarten through to High School. I love it so that I am considering going for a Bachelor of Ed!
