Rob's Story
Life
After High School I joined the Army and spent three exciting years learning valuable life skills, like how to operate a floor buffer and the proper way to shine one's shoes.
After the Army I returned to Allentown, got a job, and got married to a terrific person, Kathy Kershner. Unfortunately, I was not a very good husband, and we ultimately divorced.
I bumped from job to job, then decided to try going to college. I attended Penn State - Allentown, then matriculated to the Main Campus. It was so different at Penn State back then, probably because we won most of our football games. Anyhow, I graduated from PSU in 1988, took a year off, then got my Master's at Indiana University of Penn. in 1990.
Somewhere in that time I again got married and divorced. That second time around I thought I did a pretty good job of it, but in looking back I think I picked the wrong person. (Duh) I moved to Milwaukee in 1992, met someone and yes, got married yet again. My wife Eileen and I have two wonderful kids, Fiona and Annie Rose. wood, life is pretty nice.
I cherish my high school years and the friends I made. I hope all of my former classmates and friends can say the same thing, and that they lead rich and rewarding lives.
College
I was a 26 year-old freshman at good old Penn State. I started at PSU-Allentown, then moved up to Main Campus. I still remember the thrill I got on my first day of class, seeing all those students on campus. Attending Penn State was the smartest thing I ever did in my life.
UPDATE - I haven't checked this site out in a while. My girls are older, Fiona, my oldest is a freshman (freshwoman?) in high school. Annie Rose is in 7th grade. I was a late starter with kids. I'm starting to worried how I will pay for college. We've been putting money aside, but the market is crap. But life is still good. I recently saw that Jeff Bartges passed away, and I was really affected by his death. I guess I'm starting to feel my own mortality. I'm not worried about organ failure, 'cause I can snag anything I really need from Rick. It's comforting knowing I have 4 kidneys. Anyhow, best of luck to my classmates. I'll see you in 2010.
