Rob's Story
Life
After attending BYU for a year, I served a mission for my church for two years in Germany. It was a great experience. I then returned to BYU where I studied music. I met and married my wife Suzi who was a professional dancer from Los Angeles. She came to Utah to work for Ballet West. We met at BYU where she was teaching in the ballet department. We had a son born to us while at BYU. We moved back to the old homestead in Fallon in 1982 and started a business: "The Studio for the Performing Arts" where we and other teachers taught various forms of dance and music. I also founded the Lahontan Valley Concert Choir during our time in Fallon. We had three more children born to us in Fallon. ties for the kids. We were an important part of the ARTs community in Aspen. The Aspen Ballet became a full professional performing Ballet Company during our tenure. We had our last and fifth child while living in Aspen. In 1997 we moved back to Utah and I began work as Associate Professor and Director of Music in the ballet department at the University of Utah in Salt Lake. I also work as music director and principal pianist for the Utah Regional Ballet at Utah Valley State College. Suzi is again on the ballet faculty at BYU. Last year I was in NYC to record two CDs. Our oldest child, who is 21, is currenty serving a mission for our church in the Philippines. We live in the relatively small town of Pleasant Grove. It is a great place to raise a family. Pleasant Grove is about a 45 minute drive from my work in Salt Lake City.
