Robert's Story
12/01/2009- A work in progress, but the basics:
I attended BCC from 1964-66, graduated from Staunton Military Academy (high school) in June 1967, then attended college a while. I enlisted in the U.S. Army in October, 1969. I attended and completed Basic Combat Training at Fort Dix, NJ from 13 October- 05 Dec 1969, as a member of Company E-1-2, and was subsequently assigned to F Company, USASATC&S - Ft. Devens, MA for training. I finished 98J20 school in June 1970. (I was at Ft. Devens from 07 Dec 1969 to July 1970, but only in class from March-June 1970). My entire active duty 98J20 class, all 13 of us, were posted to USASA Group Korea in July 1970; I spent 1 year in Korea at 3 different sites. o Maryland in late October 1972, lived in my parents' house for a while, which was a drag, then moved out to an apartment. I attended the University of Maryland on the GI bill from 1973-1976, graduating in August 1976, working part time at Ritz Camera all the while. After that, I worked at a couple of different U.S. Government Agencies (FCC and DoD) from 1977 to Feb. 1983; at that time I decided to become a U.S. Government Contractor affiliate at a DoD agency instead of an employee. As of December 2009, I am still a U.S. DoD Contractor- employed as a Systems Engineer by a large aerospace comapny. I have resided in Ellicott City, MD since 1984. I enjoy photography, Ham Radio (I am KC3AL), and other things. I have 2 dogs, Gabriel and Katie, and we also have 2 horses- Lucky and Sebastian. I had Lasik surgery on my eyes in 2001 so I don;t have to wear glasses any more!
