If the false charge against capitalism is that it allows “the strong” to exploit “the weak,” then the true nature of the welfare state is that it allows “the weak”—i.e., the unproductive—to exploit “the strong”—i.e., the productive. On gun control. "If there's a gun in the room, I want to be in control of it!" Clint Eastwood "One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferior” . . . Plato [IF] If you can keep your head when all about you Are losing theirs and blaming it on you, If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you But make allowance for their doubting too, If you can wait and not be tired by waiting, Or being lied about, don't deal in lies, Or being hated, don't give way to hating, And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise: If you can dream--and not make dreams your master, If you can think--and not make thoughts your aim; If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster And treat those two impostors just the same; If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools, Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken, And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools: If you can make one heap of all your winnings And risk it all on one turn of pitch-and-toss, And lose, and start again at your beginnings And never breath a word about your loss; If you can force your heart and nerv...Expand for more
e and sinew To serve your turn long after they are gone, And so hold on when there is nothing in you Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on!" If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue, Or walk with kings--nor lose the common touch, If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you; If all men count with you, but none too much, If you can fill the unforgiving minute With sixty seconds' worth of distance run, Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it, And--which is more--you'll be a Man, my son~ Kipling". More about Robert:"Retired Navy Deep Sea Diver. Builder, Grandpa, Father, Husband, Brother, Friend...I wear lots of hats. Enjoying life, love to laugh, share opinions (you dont have to see it my way, I dont have too see it yours, lets reason together) I dislike people with overinflated veiws of themselves, you know, like when they write stuff like Retired Navy Deep Sea Diver....LOL I dislike folks who try to silence my opinion while they rant and rave about theirs! Their openminded, progressive, tolerant as long as you agree with them! Otherwise, standby to be labled and defined. The Truth will stand for itself. Jesus is Lord of my life, Ellen is the Love of my life, Kids are making all the drama now. Years of fighting Leukemia and Lymphoma, I finally exercised Faith and trusted our Lord Jesus with my healing. This was after I was told I needed a bonemarrow transplant and more chemo. I left Houston without getting the procedure. I prayed to God "Lord, this is not living, I am so weak and cannot provide for my Family. If you want to bring me home, I am ready, if not, then I know you can heal me. In your Word, you said to those you healed, "Go, your Faith has made you well" Well Lord, if it's in your will, then please heal me." Doctors tried to talk me out of it. But I told them that if I changed my mind, It would be telling God, that I trust man more than I trust him. I was not going to do that. They asked if they could still monitor me and give me a PET scan. I said sure! When the results came back. I was CANCER FREE! God is good!".
