Enlisted U. S. Air Force Jan. 1960
April 1961, Comissioned Second Lieutenant, navigator. Early 1962 volunteered for Combat Control Duty, ( CCT ). Google: Air Force Combat Control Teams, if you're curious about the mission of CCT.
April 1962, attended US Army parachute jump school Ft. Benning, GA
Aug. 1962, graduated, Air Traffic Control Course, Keesler AFB, Missippi.
September 1962, assigned as Officer in Charge, ( OIC), Combat Control Team, ( CCT ), Tachikawa AB, Japan. Temporary duty in Vietnam near end of tour. Promoted to Captain.
Jan. 1966 assigned Ist Air Commando Wing, England AFB, Louisiana. During assignment, performed temporary duty directing airstrikes in secret war in Laos --- call sign "Butterfly 44". You will find me in the following books: The Raven Chronicles: In Our Own Words, --- CCT, The Eye of The Storm, --- and, Classified Secret, Controlling Airstrikes in the Clandestine War in Laos.
September 1969, assigned as OIC CCT, Mildenhall , England, UK. Promoted to Major.

AFB, NC, as OIC, CCT. Graduated from Methodist College, Fayetteville NC. Promoted to Lieutenant Colonel.. Assigned as, Commander, 3rd Mobile Aerial Port Squadron.
September 1980, assigned as Staff Officer, Headquarters European Command, (EUCOM ), Stuttgart, Germany.
April 1983, assigned as OIC EUCOM ULCC, RAF Mildenhall, UK, with small staff, to assist in developing logistic war plans with the UK Ministry of Defense.
May 1989 Retired --- 29 years four months & four days --- 189 military parachute jumps.
Decorations include: Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal w/1 oak leaf cluster, Air Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award w/3 oak leaf clusters, Combat Readiness Medal w/4 oak leaf clusters, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Vietnam Service Medal.
Remained in UK after retirement, with business interests in real estate and the antiques trade. Now completely retired and living in Suffolk, England, in a house last rebuilt in 1614.. Photos at bottom...
