Robert's Story
Life
We have a pet cat. His name is Tommy and we've had him for over eight years. Tommy replaces Tiger whom we had for seventeen years We've always had a cat.
Updated bio: After grade 8, St. Leo's, I went to Mimico High school for one year only, didn't like it there, so I changed both schools and type of courses to study, switching to New Toronto Secondary from grades 10 to 12, 1968 to 71.
After graduating here, I went to Humber College (north campus in rexdale) for a year, Did not like it and quit by not returning to the second year. I did take several night courses, to try to get a diploma, but could not aquire the right combination of credits, so I gave up on that, and then a few years later got my
grade 13,at two different high schools also at night school. This qualified me to apply for university which I attended for 12 long school years, all of it at night school, at St. George campus, U. of T. History was my major. As I was a civil servant with the Ontario gov...Expand for more
ernment since 1978, it was a short walking distance to classes after work, my last last class ending in the spring of 2002, followed by graduation. How's that for a late bloomer! Better late then never, they say. I did this, in large part because I felt bad about quiting my studies in Humber College way back in 1972, thirty years before graduating from U of T. And all those years I wanted to finish something post secondary. So much for my academia, other bio info, in the seventies, I tried to see as much of the world as I could, going to most of Europe, north Africa and some of the middle east, by roughing it.
Also went down to Mexico through the U.S. by Greycouch buses. And in 1980 I went to the far east, Hong Kong, Phiippines, and Hawaii. Met my future wife Lucy, a midwife working
in Manila, she followed me to Canada in 1981, and we got married the following year. We are nearing our 30th. anniversary in May 2012. we have daughter Chantel, who is a university student.
