Robert's Story
Where to begin?...
I started as most of us did out of school spending most of my time either partying or working. I learned lifes toughest lessons early with the loss of my good friend from school Richy Steffey whos life was taken way before it even really got started.
I tried an early marriage (ending in failure), I have owned a few houses in Dearborn Heights while starting my career in 1986 in the Industrial air compressor business.
I spent the next few years partying, riding my Harleys and working. Then I decided Life wasnt getting easier so I concentrated on my career, continueing my education at a trade school.
I married in 1990 to a girl named Cheryl from Riverview. We had three boys Robert, Brandon and David over the years as Cheryl stayed home to take care of the home I continued on my career.
We moved into a new house in Brownstown Twp in November of 1998, then spent the next couple of years finishing the details associated with buying new, like the landscaping and fencing etc... (I dont think I would want to do it again)
In 2001 I teamed up with a couple of guys to form a company called Air Compressor Energy Systems, Inc. It is a sales, service and parts supplier of industrial air compressors, chillers and...Expand for more
related equipment. Our company is located in Romulus.
Then 9/11 hit and it was a whole new struggle, starting out with all of our combined investment money hanging on the future. We decided to push forward and with the support of our families, friends and manufacturers we overcame the 5 year threashold of business failure rate.
I am happy to say with 8 years into my new venture things are looking up and we are now recognized and known statewide and nationally as leaders in our field amongst our competitors and peers.
In closing I must say... life since High school has been a wild, crazy and emotionally charged rollercoaster of a ride. With again another hard loss a few years back when my best friend since 4th grade, Mike Scicluna had passed away from cancer. Along with all the other classmates I have heard of passing over the years that I can only say...
I know now what my parents and all the other older generation used to say is deffinetly true "enjoy your time in school now because when your out and on your own your going to wish you were back" Yea right who would have ever believed that?
To all my friends and fellow classmates... good luck, good fortune and good health now and well into the future.
