Robert's Story

At Portsmouth elementary, I survived the sixth grade and Mildred Leisy, As much as I hated entering Room 27 in 1959, I will admit she was the best teacher I ever had Are there any other classmates who survived her daily hygiene checks and other requirements...including being well versed on daily news events? 8th (Mrs. Allbright) grades were for coasting. I only attended Roosevelt HS for two months before being relocated to Pasadena, California and then back into the Portland area in late 1963. (Sunset and David Douglas HS's) I still get together with friends about twice a year at the Twilight Room on Lombard. Great memories of growing up in North Portland.
