Robert's Story

Highlights: I broke my femur in a skydiving accident when I was 19. (The leg was fixed by Connie Allard's dad.) Graduated from EMC in 1972 with a BS in Educ (Math/English). Joined the Navy (1973-78). Graduated from Aviation Officer Candidate School in Pensacola and was commissioned an Officer. Trained as a Naval Flight Officer flying in the E-2 Airborne Early Warning aircraft. Served with VAW-115 in Japan flying off the USS Midway. (Now a floating museum in San Diego) Left the Navy and returned to Billings in 1978 to own and operate two business'. Lost my butt on one and broke even with the other. Went to work for the government and got my MBA from UM (1994) to find out what went wrong with the entrepreneurial efforts. rnment in the information technology field. I retired in January 2011 after 26 years of Federal Service which included 4 1/2 years of military service. My last position was in the Senior Executive Service as the Chief Information Officer for the Office of the Special Trustee within the Department of Interior. My wife Sherri and I have been married for 36 years and have two children. We are now part of a multi-generational household after my daughter's divorce (mom and dad, son, daughter and granddaughter) helping to care for our 4 year old granddaughter. The young lady has a boundless amount of energy and has never met a boundary she hasn't wanted to push up against or through. She is making my retirement life very interesting and very enjoyable.
