Robert's Story
After nearly 40 years as a Head of School/Consultant in private elementary schools I decided it was time to retire, take a breath, and enjoy life...in Fort Lauderdale no less. I worked in schools in Melbourne, Australia, Illinois, Texas, and Florida, so literally have friends from around the world. I was a “Fixer.” Schools hired me to help them be better organized, more cohesive, and produce a better-educated student. Issues ranged from Governance to Finance to Marketing to Curriculum, and Faculty. The great part was that once I had gone as far as I could with a particular school, it was my decision when I would leave and move on. Of course, my children never knew where they would be the next day. My wife, Judy, is also an educational administrator. We had always worked together, which was ...Expand for more
terrific.
We have four children ranging in age from 35 to 43. Two of them are teachers. Our oldest daughter, who lives around the corner from us, has nine children whom we love and adore. They are, of course, beautiful and brilliant! She has 15-year-old twin girls, a 13-year-old boy, an 11-year-old girl, an 8-year-old boy, a 6-year-old boy, a 5-year-old girl, a 2-year-old girl, and a newborn girl. Our oldest son, who is also married, lives in San Francisco and has two sons. Our second daughter lives on a kibbutz in Israel, also with a newborn. Her husband is a medic and has been reactivated.
Our youngest son was married this summer in Italy (destination wedding) and is in marketing and sales (New York City).
Life for us has been good and we are truly thankful for what we have.
