Robert's Story
I attended CFB Penhold as an Officer Cadet-Drill Instuctor/Band. Continued to serve in the Reserves for many years after completing High School and College. Met a real nice girl who lived on base but that is a whole story in itself. I then started working for CN Rail and became active in the Union. In 1979 I was appointed a National Representative and then subsequently became Regional Vice-President for the Union. I represented some 6000 members in BC and Alberta and spent half my life travelling in airplanes and hotels throughout Canada and the U.S. My Union (CBRT&GW) then merged with the Canadian Autoworkers Union. In 1998 I decidied to retire from the Canadian Autoworkers Union and Canadian National Railways. No 3 Son, Rob is living at home with us. Rob has now met a real nice lady....so who knows where that will lead.
My good friend Wayne & Sharon Dumbrell from Parksville have been life long friends who we often travel the world with. Wayne is an expert at finding great deals so that we can extend our trips to the max. We are thinking about a trip to the Canary Islands and then through parts of Europe we havent seen yet. Its lucky that we save up our Aeroplan and Avion travel points which helps cut down the costs. If you ever get a chance to take a Mediterrean Cruise do so, you wont be disappointed...especially to the Greek Isl.. A few years ago we took an extensive trip to Eastern Europe, Russian and Latvia. It was just a tremendous trip especially staying with some friends of Wayne's in Moscow.
