Rochelle's Story

Life graduated from Purdue University with a B.S. in Computer Engineering in 2000. Married a fellow trombone player in 2003. Lived in Pittsburgh while my husband attended Carnegie Mellon University. Moved to Albuquerque, NM after my husband graduated with his PhD. Our son was born in 2009 and daughter in 2011. College The best part of my college career was being a member of the Purdue All-American Marching Band. There was nothing like walking in to my first week of classes with 300 friends under my belt. There was also no better way to get front row seats to the football games! And how many people have been invited to play Christmas Carols standing on the bar at Harry's?!? There were entirely too many neat people in that group - most of whom I'm still in touch with. HDP! My studies started out in ChemE....Expand for more
I loved Organic, but hated the intro ChemE classes, so I changed over to Computer Engineering. I wasn't thrilled with the classes, but decided to stick with it until I graduated. That decision paid off in the end and I now Love my job! I was lucky enough to have been matched with a Great roommate that I stayed with for 4 years. We had a lot of fun - especially when we both were able to go to the bars. She didn't mind my crazy band friends too much either. After she graduated, I shared a house with my sister and one of her roommates. Workplace I am now an Embedded Software Engineer for a medical device company. I work on Sleep Apnea devices and Life Support Ventilators. Very interesting work - especially when I get to go to clinical studies. There's nothing like staying up all night to watch people sleep!
