Roland's Story
After leaving Como Lake High School, I worked in different fields and, in June 1965, I joined the cable television industry (Westminster Cable) in New Westminster. I was one of the first three people hired for installation and construction of the cable distribution systems. This was the beginning of my 43-year career. I retired in 2008. 56 years. We did live in Surrey for the first ten years after our marriage and in June 1975, we built our own home on the outskirts of Fort Langley. After our sons, Kerry and Kelly, had left the home, we decided to downsize and made our move to Chilliwack where we presently call home. We also have four grown grandchildren. Life is good!
I am pleasantly surprised to have come across the “Classmate Website” and to have found so many classmates from Como Lake who I have not seen or talked to in all these years gone by (60+).
