Rolanda's Story
Life
You all remember me as Rolanda Baker. My children are who keep a smile on my face every day. I enjoy being a soccer, basketball and track mom. My 18 year old is one of the top basketball players in the state of Minnesota and is very sound academically. She has recently signed a NLI to attend the George Washington University.
Although I've enjoyed working as a tax accountant for the past 16 years, God has guided me on a different path. For two years, I took a position as Director of Development and Marketing at a local agency that specializes in preventing child abuse. I'm currently an adjunct professor teaching MBA and MSM adult learners at a local Business college.
Upon graduating high school, I never thought I would accomplish so much. However, I thank God for these many blessings and strive to leave a positive legacy that makes a meaningful difference in the lives of my children, family, friends and everyone I come in contact with.
School
The teacher who inspired me the most is Doc Carlin. He is one of the most profound professors I have ever met.

o high school all over again, I would attend Grad Night. Of course my parents wouldn't let me back then because I was a Jehovah Witness.
My funniest moments in school were shared with Jenine Haire in Drama Class and with my cousin Derrick Henry.
The most memorable and awkward moment is looking out of Mrs. Ray's Geometry class and seeing the Challenger in pieces.
College
I finally went back to my Alma mater and completed a Masters of Science in Management. It was the best experience I've had in a long time. It would be music to my ears if I could choose to attend college for the rest of my life. Learning from others is so rewarding.
The Professors who've had the most impact on me at Cardinal Stritch are A. Altaf, F.Owusu, R. Viscasillas and K. Hodgson. Thank you for teaching me skills that will remain with me for a lifetime.
The class of 2004/2005 are a blast. Thank you for making my college experience wonderful. I know it will be the same for the Ph. D in Organizational Leadership group.
