Chantal and I have been maried since 1987. We lived in Santa Rosa for less than a year before moving to Ukiah for what I thought was a better job opportunity working for the Mendocino County Environmental Health Dept. Chantal got her teaching credential from Sonoma State and then taught for a few years in Laytonville. We loved the country up there but both tired of our careers there so I went back to school at Humboldt State to get my masters before we eventually moved to Woodland, in Yolo County. My wife is about to get her doctorate in musicology and hopes to land a local college teching job, hopefully something more secure than as an itinerant lecturer! We have three kids: Julia age 20, Rowan age 18, and Sofia age 15. Two of them will be in college next year. I can't belive it's been 35 years--more than a third of a century!
