Ron's Story

School No surprise to anyone that I was in love with Chirstine Macatee. I have been recalling some memories from Houston Jr. High and I thought I would share them. I remember the Preverts club that started in the Algebra class taught by Miss Brooks. I remember being the prevert of the week like 4 times in a row before I declined the honor so someone else could win. I thought it was such a nobile jesture, but I hated doing later. I remember we did a song for assembly that consisted of us doing an offbeat version of "Beat It". I remember during rehearsal when everyone attacked me and ripped my tail off, the davil tail. I saw the ripped tail and was reminded of Bugs Bunny when he lost his tail, so I said, " Just call me Stubby". I thought that name was going to stick with me forever, but luckly it did not. I also remember going to Freshman Prom where I ended up dancing with several girls, 4 or 5 I think. I remember feeling great so I decided to do a move that I saw from Saturday Night Fever, and I got away with it with a hitch. I would desribe it but I might mess up on that. I was told later that they thought it was great that I the splits, but I tired to tell everyone I could not do the splits to save my life. FYI, I left that dance alone, no surprise. I remember being picked on alot while in Houston Jr. High and in High School. I remember J A and how well I did in it. Life After high school I went to school at NMJC and I was there for a year and a half. I meet a great person named Cindy Connell. I worked at Pizza Mill and Sub Factory where I became assistant manager for about a week. When Danny Henson died, I went into a depression that lasted about 6 monthes. I had moved out of the parents house and started drinking vodka alot. I would smell from drinking so much. I got caught stealing right before Christmas in 1989 and spent some time in jail, half a day. I ended up moving in with Lance Ballard for a month before I had to go back to the parents since I could not afford to pay the rent and my car at the same time. (By the way, Lance wrote a book called "My Time Spent with Hem" which can be found online. After that, I decided that I needed to move away from Hobbs and I ended up in Phoenix where Darrell Phillips lived and needed a ride back. I left friends that wanted me more then I realized and I only found out after the move, way after. I lived there for 7 years and wanted to better myself thru education. Alas, I never did since I felt I never had enough money for an educa...Expand for more
tion. The first year was the hardest on me with me losing my car to a wreck and my best friend when he moved back to Hobbs after we had a fight. I lived in the Phoenix area without a car for the next 6 years. I did have a little fun in Tempe despite the fact I did not have a car and I was making part time money. I decided that I was going nowhere in Phoenix and it was time to change that by moving closer to family, and my brother lived in the Atlanta Georgia area, so I wanted to move there too. I made the move to Atlanta Georgia while attending the 10 year high school reunion. I had a pretty good time there. I lived with my brother and sister-in-law for a little while. My sister-in-law Becky moved to OKC to become a barbar and soon she wanted to live there again. My brother moved back to be with her after that leaving me looking for a roommate. A friend that I worked with moved in with me so I could afford the rent. He was a co-worker and a good friend that had alot of great qualities that made him quite unique. In Jan. 2000, he got hit by a SUV and died 10 days later. I went into another depression that lasted for about a year. I managed to keep myself out of trouble this time. Five years have passed and I have improved myself by getting certified as a Personal Fittness Trainer. Sept. 12, 2006 I am living in Oklahoma City where I have been for a year. I live on my own and I am currently single. I work as a Bartender which can be fun most of the time. I was thinking about skipping the reunion but thanks to Leslie Rae, I will be attending it. Not much to report, other then my dad was fired from his after being there for 37 years and getting badly burned last year. He recovered from that very nicely. My brother is on the road due to his job, so he gets around 10 days here before going off to another city to work his magic, or whatever they have him do. July 21, 2008 I need to update everyone on the latest. I went to the 20 year high school reunion last year and it was way better then the 10 year. I have since bought a condo this year and I am in the process of getting it fixed. I have been dating a girl named Jennifer since mid December of last year. She has 2 girls named Sahara, 13, and Selena, 7. I also attended the 88 High School Reunion as the DJ for the event. I helped as much as could with the help of Danny Owens. Everyone seemed to have a great time and it is a shame that those types of weekends have to end. It's fun to see people you have not seen in years having fun.
