Ronald's Story
I wish everyone to have had a safe and happy journey in their lives since graduation. I have accomplished an AA, AAS, BA and BS degree in formal education. I signed up and was accepted into a masters certification, but stopped. I have also completed many programs at Carrier/UTC and worked in Carrier Corporation, in Syracuse for 38 years, retiring a short time ago as lead engineering lab technician. It was not always easy, but it was a very interesting and a fulfilling career. My wife Lucy, was a teacher for over 30 years, also now retired and working on her own projects. We have been married close to 40 years and met in college. We have a daughter and a grandson who are the absolute apple of my eye.
We live in Cicero, New York, our sanctuary from the rest of the world, keeping us busy year round to maintain. We have traveled to many places when given the time and chance. My interests include watching sports, movies, working around the house, travel, reading...Expand for more
books with a variety of topics, fishing, backpacking, skiing, kayaking and canoeing, bicycling road and trail, and just walking. I have participated with charity events on my bike and have enjoyed the challenges of some long rides. I began playing my electric guitar again with a fresh passion, after it was put aside for many years.
Recent illness and loss of family has kept us very busy. I have become a jack of all trades for another property in need of tender loving care, an appointed family helper and general missionary. Hopefully we can sit back a little more, soon. A few years ago I was traveling in northern PA on a winter day and my car was crushed by a tractor trailer, leaving me only inches and timing for a life or death situation. The experience has brought to light the importance of our fragile lives, love of family and friends, purpose we have in life with the influence and grace we share, and to appreciate the smallest things we see along the way.
