Edmund's Story

Life My Spouse/In Sook Met her while in the Alabama Air National Guard in 1981 on a 60 day deployment to Korea. Then went back 4 years in a row and visited her each time and spent as much time off duty with her as I could. Got her a Fiancée Visa. She came to the U S for three months, she liked it, we got married 28 June 1986. My daughter/Jaciene Born in 88. She is much smarter & better looking than me. A very well mannered, developed, talented, and mature young lady. She is very girlish. My Job Discharged from USAF in 66. Managed for KFC, Lum's, Pizza Hut, Capt. D's, Red Lobster owned my own restaurants in NY and AL. Retired (2002) from full time employment from the Alabama Air National Guard as Services Superintendent. I ran the Administration for Food Service, Lodging, Linen, (both in House and field of all 3 mentioned), Field Training, Mortuary Affairs, Moral Welfare and Recreation, Tactical Field Exchange, Base Fitness, Mobility, Supply, and Contractor liaison for the Dining Facility. Don't visit Pgh much. Miss the fish sandwiches and turtle soup at Forest Park Inn and the big pickles at Marylee's, and the Original Oyster House in Pgh. Lost my yearbook years ago. Would like another one. If any one knows how please try to contact me. I’ve been to only one class reunion. Would like to see classmates again and reminisce. It's been a long time. I’ve been to 39 states (including Alaska and Hawaii), all the great lakes, across both the Pacific and Atlantic, swam in the Pacific, Atlantic, Gulf Of Mexico and the Dead Sea. Waded in the English Channel, North Sea, the Red Sea and the Mediterranean. Have been flown over the Mediterranean and have seen the Red Chinese Naval maneuvers on the Yellow Sea, (From a distance). Walked the deserts in Wyoming, Saudi Arabia, and Israel. Been to and in the great Pyramids in Egypt. Rode a camel in site of Cairo and the Pyramids. Stood less than 5 ft. away from Yaser Arafat, face to face. Shook hands and talked and ate lunch with the Leader of the Israeli Resistance of the giveaway of the Gaza Strip, better known as Gush Gatif in Israel. Walked the same streets, roads, and by ways that Jesus Walked. Been to two World Fairs and visited the Olympics in Atlanta, & saw Olympic Stadium and in the largest Christian church in the world, in Seoul Korea (50,000 per 9 services a day. Almost a million members). Been in 24 countries, on 5 of the 7 continents. Including Palestine & over looked the DMZ in Korea plus a short clandestine visit to North Korea. I've seen a pubic whipping in Saudi Arabia and a head that was hung in the public square after an execution in the sam...Expand for more
e town square of Daharan. I've been rich, poor, rich, & poor again and now am rich beyond measure (In the Lord). I've slept in cars, parks, gutters, under bridges, old abandoned buildings, abandoned airports, castles and mansions. I've eaten in some of the finest restaurants all over the world and also begged for food on street corners. I've fed the poor in soup lines and millionaires in their homes. I've worked along the sides of people in the highest political offices in the land and with the most lowly people of the streets. I can truthfully say many more of the lowly have more scruples and can be trusted more than in most high political office. Although some of the lowly would slit your throat for your coat. But then so would most of the rich and powerful. Only a few in high places can be trusted. I met the Lord Jesus on a deserted wintry, road in a blizzard in Appalachin N Y in the Winter of 71. By all rights I should be dead or the least in a jail or hospital and most likely on my way to, or already in Hell. But, ever since, I've been rich and will spend eternity with the Lord. Now I'm waiting for my daughter to graduate and my wife to retire to travel. Military Joined the USAF during the Cuban Crisis, 18 Nov 62. Was a Food Service Technician for 4 years. Stationed at Ft. Lee VA, Pope AFB NC, Daharan Saudi Arabia, Kunsan (K8) Korea, TDY to Osan, Glasgow AFB Montana. Discharged an E4 in Nov. 66. 16 years seperation of Service. Joined Alabama Air National Guard in Birmingham AL, the 117 TRW. Was the first Services Personnel ever to be hired as a Traditional Air Guardsman in any of the 50 States and its possesions. Was the first ever Traditional Guardsman Services Person to be hired as a Full Time Technician in any of the 50 States and its Possesions During that time I went on 4 TDY's to Korea (Kimhae twice, Sachon, Chong Ju. During the first return to Korea is when I met my wife. 4 TDY's to England. 1 TDY to Germany. Numerous other TDY's through out the U S, North, East, West, and South. Fed the first group of Recon plane pilots heading to the Sand during the first Iraqi War. Was the Mortuary NCOIC for the first K I A during first Iraqi War. 1 of our F4's was on a mission over the sand and an mechanical error occured. The F4 went down killing both men on board. In June of 02, as Mortuary NCOIC I helped to bury the best Wing Commander probably in the Air National Guard, surely the greatest of the 117th, ever. Got almost 25 years in including the 4 in the USAF and retired in Sept. 02. Wish I could get back in again for this problem we are going through in the sand.
