Roney's Story
Hi there,
My birthdate is March 7 and I was born on the Island. I went to Doncaster Elementary School, Lansdowne, and Mt. Doug.
In 1969 I got a job with the Federal Government as Private Secretary to the Production Officer at Rocky Point Ammunition Depot, I then transferred into downtown Victoria and worked in the Old Age Pension Department on Government Street. I stayed there for five years then worked for my father at Cubbon Building Supplies for several years. I had three boys in the 70's then worked for Victoria Paving part time. I then worked for my father again until he retired. I got my Real Estate licence in 1986 and left due to 19% interest rates. I then went into Tourism and for seven years I served on 7 boards of directors and 26 committees ending...Expand for more
my committee work being Vic President of Crime Stoppers, The Better Business Bureau and Downtown Victoria Association in the same year. I went on to work for ICBC until their office moved to Vancouver. I went on to be the Office Manager/Accountant with Minolta Business Equipment.
I have always lived in the Gordon Head area and my sons attended Mt. Doug while it was still on Cedar Hill Road. My sons are grown and on their own and I have 4 grands. I am living just behind University Heights Shopping Centre and have lived here for 33 years.
I am single and have a lovely sheltie that keeps me busy.
I enjoyed seeing everyone who attended our 51st reunion on July 13th and if we didn't have enough time to chat and you would like to get together please contact me.
