Rose's Story
After graduation I went to work at Loma Linda University Medical Center in the Pediatrics Department. I was there for 11 years and saw a few miracles. After that I went to work with Kevin's mom in Hemet running board & care homes for the elderly. Kevin became a carpet installer and did that until he was in a serious car accident that broke his hip and pelvis (and a few other bones) After he got better his mom helped him open his own carpet business in Hemet called "Fields of Carpet". Then later he too helped run the board & care homes. When I was 30, I decided to go back to school and got my degree in Electrical Engineering. I have worked at Climet Instruments in Redlands for the past 11 years as senior technician, then Inside Sales Specialist and technical support. My youngest son has a high functioning form of Autism and was having some problems so I have had to take a leave of absence from my job to help with him. He is currently doing much better. I have 3 sons. Nathan 21, Gage 11, and Jacob 8. Kevin passed away in 2002 of ...Expand for more
heart failure. I miss him, he was my best friend, so currently I am a single mom. I have been thinking of going to school again to become a teacher in special education. Also that would give me the same hours and holidays as the kids. Babysitters are too damn expensive!! Other members of our family are a dog named Levi and an Iguana named Spaz. There are usually a few "foster" kids around too, Nathan's friends that have adopted me as their Mom (because I am so cool and a great cook! HaHa)When he was in school he was on the football team (starting center) so sometimes half the team was at our house! But I always figured at least I knew where they were and what they were doing, so I never minded. The more the merrier I say. So it usually seems like I have 5 or 6 kids instead of just 3. I still like to go out and party (no drugs!) and dance once in a while and forget I am a mom (to keep my sanity). Life doesn't always turn out the way you expect, but just keep being able to laugh at the little things and at yourself and it will be ok.
