Roy's Story
After graduating from Peters Twp. High School I attended California University of Pa. Where I received my Bachlors degree with a major in psychology and minor in social work.In 1972 I got married and have two children Richard age 36 and is the head of the criminal investigative unit of the Somerset, police dept. I have 2 grandchildren who are Richards. Ryan age 11 and Nicole age 7. I also have a daughter age 37 who is not married. She is the charge medication nurse at the Patriot Manor Nursing Home in Somerset. In 2007 I divorced my wife and started a wonderful relationship with Bill Peters. He is the love of my life. Yes I am gay and the 44 years of hell that certain classmates put me through has left a irepairable scar on me never to be forgotten. I hope some of you have grown up and changed your view on gay people. born this way and to those of you who think this is a choice. Who would choose this life style. I guess I chose it because I didn't want any friends in school, wanted to be beat up and constantly made fun of. Made in Gym class. I will have you know that the reason I never attended any re-unions was because I did not want to be humiliated any more. I will however be attending the next one with my loving and supportive partner if any of you have a problem with this e-mail me. Hurt and Still Hurting 44 years later. Hope this helps people and shows you how much damage and grief they can cause someone else by making fun of them for being gay.
After 44 years I thought my classmates should see how judgmental, cruel comments, physical abuse and verbal abuse has hurt me. I still have un-healed wounds that will never change.
