Roy's Story

Life After 53 years of living in the Edwardsville-Glen Carbon area, I picked up stakes and moved 10 miles due south to Collinsville, Illinois in July 2005. Married 29 years plus to my wonderful wife Kathy. Children include twin daughters Jennifer Buckman and Katie Smith, 27, and son Rob, 23 who recently completed his 4-year Army 'career'. My furball of a pet is none other than my 15 year old beagle dog Barney, who is more well known by his nickname, Boogie (the WonderDog). My grandchildren include Ashley Buckman and Elise Goddard, who are 5 weeks apart at the 6 1/2. I have worked in St. Louis for 34 years, the last 14 with Neumayer Equipment. ar alma mater EHS, which finished 4th in state this year in class AA wrestling; made it to semifinals in class 7A football with a 12-1 record, and made it to the Elite Eight in class AA basketball before losing to Chicago Marshall, finishing the greatest season ever with a 30-1 record. The Tigers baseball and girl's softball teams are both currently ranked #1 in the St. Louis area. The boys are 9-1, while the girls are 8-0. Other interests include computers, eBay (seller I.D. tru2myword) and Christian faith. Finally, it would be a sin of omission if I were not to include my best friend, Jerri Wilson, of Linn, MO. in my biography. Sunshine © , you are the greatest!

Found yet another hitchhiker on the bottom of the brim of my cap. I should work for Uber!
I can't say for certain, but I believe this truck was crushed by a tree during the huge storms that hit the area hard last Saturday. I saw this truck being carried on a flatbed truck this morning during my daily walk.
Joy is hoping for a break in the heat. We got a bit of a break when it rained briefly early this afternoon.

It was hot and humid, and Joy decided to lay in the grass and chill this afternoon.

The heat was oppressive again today, but the rain we've been praying for all month finally showed up early this evening. We've been in a drought situation for over a month now.
