Russ's Story
After SHS I went to Georgia Tech to study electrical engineering. Had fun for three years (too much fun apparently) and did not graduate. I taught driving for a while, then learned to program computers. I taught computer programming for a while, then quit teaching and started doing. I did that for the next 37 years. I worked for Provident, Transamerica, EDS, and Cigna, Along the way I finished college, went to graduate school and finished that. I retired from Cigna on my birthday, New Years Eve, 2016. e University of Tennessee Chattanooga and I remain there to this day. I've been divorced twice and married three times - the last time for 33 years and counting. Glenda Sue and I live on a hilltop in Fort Payne, Alabama with two old dogs and a variable number of chickens. I have a lovely daughter named Sarah Beth who teaches high school Spanish in Kingsport, TN and a super stepson named Ed who married Dr. Jan and gave us two beautiful granddaughters - Sydney and Laci. They live in Athens, GA. My next goal is to retire again and stay retired. Someday.
