Ryan's Story
Life
Presently I am a professor of music at Washington State University where I teach composition, bassoon, and music theory. I completed a doctorate in music composition at the University of Washington in 2000, and spent a few years after that in Seattle as a freelance musician and part-time music instructor. There was also a short-lived stint in the computer industry, but I prefer to forget about that.
As for my personal life, well my main hobby is road bicycling. I'm also an avid hiker, enjoy downhill skiing, and manage to shoot film now and then. And there's the usual social stuff, and readi...Expand for more
ng books all the time, and going to movies, and watching DVDs of Buffy the Vampire Slayer or Firefly or something. Blah blah.
Never been married. No kids. I'm neither hating nor loving being single, which are the only two options in that silly life Q&A; it's just how things are for the moment.
I love the Pacific NW, but still miss Reno once in a while and enjoy getting back to visit my parents and see the desert and Sierra Nevada mountains.
One big change: I was pretty religious in high school. That's long gone. I'm still crazy about music, though, so it's good that is how I make a living.
