Sabrina's Story
Life
There is a magnetic force field somewhere that keeps drawing me back to Chicago. My college degree and professional training say I'm a journalist and that has taken me to Florida and across the globe to South Africa, yet I keep coming back to the Chi! I moved back in 1999 (from Miami, of all places!) and I love it here. I am a "yuppie scum" loft owner living downtown and loving my life right now.
And, funny enough, I keep bumping into people from Kenwood and U of I. There's a magnetic force field that keeps drawing us back here, I tell ya...
Oh, by the way: I got suckered into planning our highly successful 10-year reunion. I ain't doing it for the 20th! Class officers, are ...Expand for more

School
I'm a lifelong public school kid. I attended Thomas Hoyne Elementary from K-6, then Louis Wirth from 6-8th grade, graduated Kenwood Academy in 1986 and from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1991. I think it's safe to say that I had the most fun at Kenwood and at U of I.
College
U of I is a great school for the money. The College of Communications was a good school and I am still working in journalism. I was trained well at U of I and I made some very good friends and learned a lot there. I am also proud to be a second generation alum. My father attended the university in the 1950s and is a founding member of the Fifties Black Illini.
