Salvacion's Story
Life
Sally Cravens was born and raised in the Philippines and came to the United States in 1975. She graduated from St. Joseph's High School in the Philippines, and she received a degree in Journalism from MiraCosta Community College, Oceanside. She later acquired a certificate in Applied Linguistics from San Diego State Univeristy, which enabled her to help teach English As A Second Language. Prior to publishing her own monthly newspaper, The Views (formerly Vista Views) she worked as a feature story writer for local newspapers was in management for a financial institution, and an advertising manager for weekly newspapers. annually. She has been a North County resident for more than 25 years. Sally is an active community volunteer and ran previously for the Vista City Council. She is on the board of directors of North County Lifeline Community Services and Huntington's Disease Society of America-San Diego Chapter. She is now on the Board of Directors of Vista Youth Sports Fields Foundation as well as the Vista 4th of July Commitee. She also served previously on the City of Vista Environmental Quality Commission, Guajome Park Advisory Committee, and Methamphetamine Strike Force - City of Vista Partners Project. She speaks at Career Day events at local high schools and has continuously mentored several students in their goal of pursuing a journalism career.
