Sam's Story
Life
After S.H.H.S. I started at E.T.S.U. and promptly flunked out- even got an "F" in badmitton! I was working at J.C. Memorial Hosp.(evening shift, Respiratory Therapy Dept.) then "partying" all night long...couldn't seem to make it to classes. When "UNCLE SAM" offered me a free trip to Viet Nam I enrolled at Cleveland State College and got a degree in Respiratory Therapy. During a weekend trip from school back to J.C. I accidently ran into my old S.H.H.S. sweetheart (Sandie Strehlow). We married, moved to Atlanta and had a son (Chris). I completed an advanced degree in Respiratory Therapy at Georgia State Univ. and ran the R.T. Dept. at Northside Hosp. in Atlanta. After our divorce I started a home health care company in Atlanta and remarried (no children). not to persue your dreams " and headed to medical school. My second marriage didn't last even one year of med school. After completing med school, internship and residency in Anesthesia at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, I married my current wife Lisa and began in private practice at a hospital in central Georgia where our fist child (my second son, Charles Patrick) was born 3/16/01.We recently moved back to Augusta where I currently practice Anesthesia at University Hospital (the largest hospital in Georgia). With a fulltime medical practice, two sons (1 in diapers and 1 in law school) and a beautiful, caring and understanding wife, I couldn't ask for more. I'm certain that a lot of my old friends and classmates from S.H.H.S. expected that by the millenium, or even perhaps sooner, I would either be dead or in prison...I'm not sorry to have disappointed them.
