Sandra's Story
Life
Didn't finish high school, but I did go get my GED. Got married in 1970 to Robert(Bob)Glenn Shook and had one son. Robert Lyn Shook. Divorced one year later. Got married in 1971 to James Nelson Reeder and had one daughter. Jamie Dawn Reeder. Divorced in 1977. Met my third husband shortly there after and got married in 1978 to Gerald Glenn Gromatzky and we have been married for 27 years. I have a stepson Robert Arthur Gromatzky. I am very proud of my children as they have accomplished much. I have also done much in my life time. I have gotten my certificate in Cake Decorating. Got my teachers certification in Ceramics. Got my License in Cosmetology. Took classes and got certified in Word Perfect. Also got Certified in Peachtree Accounting. I have also taken classes in Geneology and now do a lot of research of my family history. I find it very exciting and enjoy doing it. I have recently gotten into scrapbooking and having fun. I also became a born again christian and am a member of the Bosque Farms Assembly of God Church. I teach pre and k sunday school and I am the Missionette Coordinator. I really love the work that I am doing for God and look forward to many more years of it. My husband Gerald is disabled, he has emphazima and is on oxygen 24/7. He gets around real well but carries that tank with him every where. We are happy together and enjoy our grandkids. We have 6 grandchildren. 3 boys and 3 girls and they are adorable with the oldest almost 16 and the youngest 7. It is great having them for a day or two and then sending them home to their parents. We own our home of 25 years and have remained in the Los Lunas area.
College
I returned to college at the age of 50, and now at the age of 52 I will be graduating in May 13,2005 with my Certificate in Elementary Education. I made the Director's List for Fall 2004 for part time students with a grade point average of 3.5 or higher....Expand for more
I have met and made many friends in college and will miss the times we had together, and will also miss the classes and teachers. I will be returning though, and taking some other classes and work toward getting my Associates while I am working as a substitute teacher for the Los Lunas School System.
Well I didn't go to work for the Los Lunas Schools system, instead I went to work for Bosque Farms Christian Academy and I taught there for 8 years teaching K-4. Loved the work and the kids and I am going to miss the work. I am now working from home tutoring a young girl that I used to have in school who is now being home schooled. So glad that I am able to help out.
We now have 2 great-grandkids and a new grand-son-in-law and so love them. Our family just continues to grow and God is so good.
Well 2020 sure brought a lot of surprises. Covid 19 and wearing masks everywhere we went. Restaurants closing down and people working from home. Watching church online and not being able to visit with family or people in hospitals. Doctors appointment done via zoom. And a new great granddaughter. That we didn't get to meet in person until she was a month old and then it was only because we had gotten out covid shots. We still don't get to see her very often except by pics posted by her mama.
Well 2021 has gotten better and now I'm able to go to church even though I still wear a mask in big crowds and to the grocery stores and doctors. But at least we get to see the doctors in person. I a back at my home church that I grew up in, Bosque Farms First Baptist. We were able to have our 50th class reunion, which was held at Teofilo's Restaurant, We were also given a tour of our School that no longer exists because it was torn down and rebuilt. But it was so much fun to see all the improvements that have been added since we went to school there. It was such fun seeing all my classmates after 50 years.
