Sandra's Story
Life
I moved around some after highschool: San Diego for 3 years; Aberdeen, WA for a year (my parents moved there) and then Montana for about 9 years and finally back to Washington in 2003.
I have two kids: Alycia 11 and Garrett 15; a yellow tabby and a golden lab. We currently (July 2007) rent a house in Seattle's east Greenlake area. I work downtown so the short commute is a blessing. I was surprised to find how much I really like living in Seattle.
My SO and I are planning a remodel of his house in the Greenwood area...if we can ever get a contractor on board.
I like to visit Granite Falls whenever Cathy Scherrer comes to town (like for 2 weeks this month) and always hope to run into someone...but never seem to. I wonder if I would recognize anyone if I did or vice versa if we did pass on the street!
I hope everyone is happy with their life to date and hope to reconnect with old friends.
School
Remember Larocha...fringe boots and Guns-N-Roses.
Mr. Bates was the most inspiring...he gave me one disappointed look my senior year that has encouraged me to not give up ever since.
I would do many things over again...who wouldn't? On the other hand, if the bad things don't happen to us, how can we appreciate the good?
College
Too much school...it is the only thing I was ever good at...but enough is e...Expand for more

Workplace
The Jack in the Box manager (Everett Ave/Broadway) was right when he told me that I would "never work at another Jack in the Box again!" after I threw the dumb drive through phone at him. To this day I don't think I can take an order (even if there had been a headset); ring something up and pack a food bag all at once.
During the 1990's I worked for a prominent "Montana owned and operated" gas station chain (that expanded to include casino's in the buildingÂ
classy huh?). During my time there I wore many hats. I was the assistant manager, the deli manager and a casino runnerÂ
and I pumped propane. I really hated it there. I received a "write up" for absolutely refusing to clean the grease trap in the deliÂ
I have no regrets. For those of you leading a sheltered life a grease trap keeps the grease from clogging the pipesÂ
sometimes it gets clogged and you have to spoon out the greaseÂ
the stench is incredible. NopeÂ
can't pay me enoughÂ
especially not the $5.35 I was making at the time.
Now I work in downtown Seattle as a real estate/estate planning/tax associate attorney.
Military
My first husband was in the Navy...actually he still is! We lived in San Diego for 3 years...San Diego is pretty cool, and they weren't drunk when they planned the freeways.
Me? I'm not very good at taking orders.
