Sandra's Story

Life I'm happily married to Wally Evans, we recently celebrated our 41st anniversary & we have had many wonderful years together. Went to Strawberry Festival to see Willie Nelson. Between the two of us we have six children; fifteen grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren. We tend to forget names & birthdays or call a child several times before we get it right. After a while with that many in your family who knows how many we have & I'm sure we have many more to come. Oldest grandchild is 48 & the youngest great-grandchild is two. With this size of a family our years have been quite rewarding. It's been many years now and a lot has gone by in my life. Bob and I stayed married for eight good years and remain friends. We have a son (Bobby), and a daughter (Melissa) and we have four beautiful grand-children. Kayla Marie & Meghan Lee (Bobby), Frank Matthew & Nicholas Lee (Melissa). Yes there is a reason for the name of "Lee"; it goes back to my great-great grandma, I also have the middle name along with my husband Wally. Then Frank's mother was also a Lee, so no doubt about it we have the "Lee's" the only thing is that Meghan and Nicholas both are about the same age and have that Red hair which I believe came from Bob & my side of the family. They are so active that we loose control of them. Bob has a daughter named Crystal which I claim as my own and she calls me Mom and she also has the red hair, he also has a son name Eric which he is a great cook. I worked for GTE until 1998 and now I enjoy our two dachshunds, our home and our kids. I like to cross stitching, scrapbooking, take lots of photos and traveling throughout the U.S. Wally & I went up the east coast to Niagara Falls, Maine, Ohio, Delaware & Pigeon Forge, TN (was one of the hottest summers we've ever experienced in 2011. Also went on a big trip in 2001 with our motorhome up the west coast, via Mississippi, Texas, Oklahoma over to CA, Nevada, Oregon (where we spent time with our oldest grandson in Portland & our fabulous granddaughters & spent six weeks there. Onto Seattle & then into Vancouver, Canada. We were in Canada for two days when 9-11 happened; however we were able to see a lot of sites before going into Canada that were shut down after we left Canada. The sites that we saw were beautiful and we are so grateful that we were able to take that trip. I try to stay focus on the present, not too much in the past & excited on what the future has to offer since I've been on disability in '98. I deal with chronic pain, fibromyalgia, herniated disc in my neck & low back, migraines & so many other issues which came about from having three car wrecks, one in '91. The two wrecks in 2000, one was in April and the other was in December; which was with a 28' Uhaul that I thought for sure I was going to be a goner. I was lucky that day since there was a police officer two cars behind me and saw the whole thing. So I just live with the pain and try to do things I want to, or should I say I can do. o lost my Mom on March 28, 2004 due to Breast Cancer and that was a hard road for all of us. Mom always expected me to be the one to take care of everything; she was the child and I was the adult. I tried to be what she wanted me to be but any one that really knows me will know that I make my own decisions and do my own thing. I was with Mom to the very last possible moment. She received her wings and she is with the "Angels." Now she is our "Guardian Angel" watching down on us. I lost my Dad on May 22, 2008 to a Heart Attack, which he had many before having a pace maker & stents put in. He was my best friend and of course I was Daddy's Little Girl & I don't believe you ever get over the lost of your parents. I miss him deeply & talk to them frequently. Always believe they hear & see me, I'll always keep the faith that they do. Now he's w/Mom where he wanted to be, however there are days I miss them more then I can stand. Along with that both of Bob's parents have passed & I Loved Them with All my heart. They were Mom & Dad to me, I learned so much from both of them. They gave unconditional Love, Warmth & Kindness. To this day they hold a very special place in my heart & will never be forgotten. I'm so blessed to have had children early in life & there isn't a day I say I wished I had waited to be married, graduate & be expecting in '68. I was recently asked if I had a chance to do it all over again, would I? Happily the answer is "YES"! I always say to myself to Live One Day at a Time and Love My Children & Family Unconditional. Life goes on and remember to "Treat Today as if There is No Tomorrow and Treat People as You Want to Be Treated" because you never know what the future holds for you. God Bless and Peace to Every One! I wish everyone a Happy & Joyful Life. I always wanted to be a Wife and Mom when I grew up, I'm still working on that. However I believe if you let go of all the kid in you, you will lose some of yourself, along with having fun & laughter in Your life. My family and friends thought that was a great idea. As it turns out, they were right and so was I. Usually I keep things in for a while, then all the steam lets lose. All I ask for is respect, no gossiping behind my back. Don't believe in the rumor mill, if you have questions or concerns go directly to the Person for a truthful answer. Also what goes on in Your home stays in your home & there is always two sides to every story. I relax by watching TV (while everyone is asleep and on computer). Enjoy each & every person that comes to visit or you go to visit, communicate & enjoy your precious time together & not have yourself glued to your cell phone as those times are very precious & you never know if it will be the last moments you share together. What I'd really like to do is for Wally & I to continue to grow older together & Love One Another. Only time will tell, but believe in faith. Love to take pictures of our kids, dogs and hubby - especially when he's cat napping in the chair.
