Sandra's Story

I always wanted to be a beautician when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a bad idea. As it turns out, they were right. We won't talk about my wild activities from high school or first year in college. Best let go and forgotten. My number one heroes are tied for first and that would be my wonderful parents. They taught me how important family is and how to forgive people. It seems I have a restless soul. I have moved often since I got out of high school and plan to move more when I am done with my next degree. After I left Defiance, I lived in Lima, OH; Portsmouth, VA; Jacksonville, FL; Defiance, OH; Perrysburg, OH; Rossford, OH; Springfield, OH; Centerville, OH; Miamisburg and finally Fairborn, OH. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Grandma Jean, Dwayne Plum and Duke Arbuthnot, because they all held special places in my life. I love having animals in my life, currently we have Topper the Golden Retriever and Fudge the Tiger Kittie who have now moved out with my daughter. I prefer watching sports live. I love hockey, professional football and baseball. I enjoy watching Survivor, Great American Race and Big Brother. My biggest surprise is that because of my children, I developed a passion for psychology. They gave me the reason and support to finally do something special besides raise them. If I could improve my home, I'd remodel bedroom and add on a sunroom with hottub. My dream home would be MINE.. tucked back a private road in the woods. My kids taught me to not judge others so harshly. To accept that each person's path is their own unique path to travel. Mrs. Brownlee, oops, I mean Mrs. Dunlap was my favorite teacher. Even though her son was not a very nice person she was the personification of nice. If I had a do over, I don't know what I would do... I would like to say not marry my kids father... but he gave me 2 wonderful children. I would like to pick a different father who regardless...Expand for more
of our status as a couple showed the kids love, visited with them, didn't resent them and didn't mind going beyond the bare minimum to support them. In 10 years, I hope to be Dr. Sandy. I'm going to get there by studying my fanny off. I lost my best friends from high school... our lives just moved us away from each other. I would like to reconnect with Pam H., Julie K., Caroline K., and Allison L. Respecting their privacy here by not spelling out their maiden names. Ahhh, I would love to just talk to Rich H. my senior year boyfriend because he was a free spirit who gave me so much joy. I've been lucky to reunite with some on face book and others on my space. Thanks to reuniting on FB, I spent a great weekend with Julie K. and Teri W. who are such wonderful ladies and I think we may all be glad to have moved beyond childish issues and have found blessedly wonderful people in each other. Perhaps if you join us on FB we can meet up also. So please feel free to look me up and ask to be my friend. People from my high school would be amazed that I am pursuing my doctorate. I was such a mediocre person back then... never cared enough to work hard for something. My first job was at KB toys, where I got paid almost nothing to stock shelves and sell toys. What I remember most about it is that I bought so many baby things for my son as I was pregnant with him. My work experience is as diverse as the locations I have lived; stocker/clerk, solicitor (Sears Credit Card, you dirty minded people), waitress, data entry, office assistant, MIS Specialist, Administrative Assistant, Scheduler, Teleport Assistant, IT Lab Specialist and finally Network Operations Technician. I also volunteer online for a support group. A embarrassing memory is the time I lost my swimsuit top when climbing up on the dock in the pond... and Carl B., standing there unable to say anything but pointing at me with his mouth hanging open. Man the embarrassment I felt back then.
