Sandra's Story
Life
I was born March 5, 1950. Unfortunately, my mother moved a lot, so my younger years are a mish-mash of towns and schools. The town and school I miss the most is Mojave and Joshua Elementary, then Junior High (7th grade) up town at the upper school.
My circle of friends at the time consisted of
Beryl A. Clark
Jean Thorne
Paula J. Lowe
Susan H. Morgan
Chris Eutz
Ricky Root
I was a Girl Scout. My mother and we children moved away from
Mojave for the last time in 1963; I think in January or February. I
lost track of everybody after 1964, when I went into Foster Care because the state removed us from my mother. I won't go into detail, except to say that it should have happened a lot sooner than it did.
I have been married 3 times, widowed twice. I am a widow. I have two children--a son, aged 36 and a daughter, aged 25. I have many, many grandchildren--some from my own children and some from friends of my children, who, unofficially adopted me as "MOM".
I have at this time one dog and one cat(who thinks she's a dog). My dog is 14 1/2 years old, and will have to be ...Expand for more
put to sleep very soon as she has cancer and is not doing well at all. My cat is 8 years old--she was raised by the brother of the dog I have now, so, as I said, she thinks she IS a dog--in fact, she will not tolerate cats!!
Her name is Trouble--She is half bobcat and half abysinian. I will get another dog, but, probably not for a little while. Bandit-the dog ththat I have to have put down real soon, is a tri-mix(miniature cocker spaniel-tea cup poodle-wire haired terrier), as was her brother, whose name was Tuffy(he had to be put to sleep in 2003 due to arthritis, thyroid problems, and heart disease).
I am an ordained minister. Besides that - I like to knit, crochet, embroider, macrame`, do wood carving/sculpture, sing, read, garden, cook, enjoy quality wine, swim, camp, fish, teach, and learn.
I live in an apartment attached to my son's home: My last husband persuaded me to move here in 2002; unfortunately, he did not get to enjoy the grandchildren like he thought he would, because he passed away just 20 days after we moved here (Cancer). I'd rather be in California -- my daughter lives in Redding, CA. and that's where I really would rather be- and where we moved from when we came here(Aumsville, Oregon - just 12 miles East of Salem, Oregon)
