Sandra's Story
Life
It was by sheer luck that I did it right the first time -- I'm still married to original hubby, and we have 2 grown sons. Mrs. Kennerly will be happy to know that I'm still using the secretarial training she gave me at Tucker, but am also into writing in a big way. I wrote the biography on which the "Mysteries and Scandals" story about character actor Albert Salmi was based, and the interview on that show was my first national TV appearance. My book, entitled "Spotlights & Shadows: The Albert Salmi Story" is now published and listed on amazon.com. My next project was the biography of former child star Peggy Ann Garner, which was published in early 2005. I have a knack for picking out book subjects that will keep me off the New York Times best seller's list, don't I? The truth of the matter is that supporting players are often much more interesting than megastars.

oma in 1980, I realize how superior education was in Virginia. What I learned at RPI/VCU has served me quite well in both my secretarial positions and my writing career. Dorm life was quite memorable, too. Remember the good ol' days when we had to yell "Man in the hall!" whenever our dads came to visit or a repairman showed up?
Workplace
Having worked in the secretarial realm in a wide variety of businesses, I'm most comfy working in a small church. That's where I am now, as their part-time secretary, and I adore it! Working part-time gives me plenty of hours to work on my writing projects, so it's just ideal. Then I come home and work another 3 hours/day as my publisher's secretary. It's fun talking by phone and e-mail to other authors, librarians, agents, customers, and even Hollywood movie producers (!) for my boss. Too bad it was someone else's book the producer wanted to make a movie from. Sigh.
