Sandra's Story
Life After high school, I attended the Bronson Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in Kalamazoo. I graduated in 1968 and moved to Grand Rapids for my first job at Butterworth Hospital. I was married in August of 1968 to Roger Prouty. We have 2 children, Christian and Renee'. We lived in Grand Rapids, moved back to Kalamazoo, then went to Illinois in 1972. We lived in Forest Park, a suburb of Chicago and then moved to Palatine in 1973. We remained there until I moved to Connecticut in 1996. Administrative Supervisor. The majority of my nursing career was spent in surgery. I was divorced in 2002 after 33 years of marriage. I stayed in Connecticut and had hoped to retire at age 62 but that came and went. I hope to move back somewhere in the Midwest to be closer to my grandchildren eventually. My daughter lives with me now and my son is married and they have a son, Blake and a daughter, Maia. My daughter is single.
Update 5/8/2012 .. I am in the middle of packing and getting my house ready to sell. The plan is to move to Minnesota this year. I plan to retire at that time. Hopefully, the house will sell and it will all happen before winter.
