Sandra's Story
Life
I have been married for almost 30 years, and have 4 children (2 are steps) and gobs of grandkids.
We moved from Sumner at the end of my freshman year, to Colville, WA, where I graduated high school. From there I attended the Univ of Montana in Missoula, as a music ed major, until I discovered that a classroom of 1st graders could intimidate me. I really wish that I had graduated, even though I would have never taught, but, oh well....
I met my husband, Clyde after I quit school. He's ten years my senior and had 2 daughters, Randi and Lori. I became their 2nd mom at the ripe old age of 22.
Since our marriage we have lived in Missoula, Spokane, and since 1987 in a suburb of Seattle.
Randi, age 39, just gave birth to our 13th grandchild, Nathan. She and her family live in Boise, Idaho, which is much too far from us. She is my daughter, sister, and friend all rolled into one. What an amazing woman.
Lori, 38, lives in So. Calif near her 3 kids. Her oldest, Amber, is pregnant with our 2nd bio great-grandbaby. See what happens when you marry someone so much older? You get to have lots of grandkids and be young enough to enjoy them!!
Clyde and I have 2 kids together. Nicholas, 25, is a laborer for a small masonry company. He does this to support his DRUM habit. He r...Expand for more
eally is an amazing drummer and musician. He is making more and more connections, and is hoping to be able to move full-time into his music career very soon.
Our daughter, Rebecca, "my girl" is a freshman at Western Washington University in Bellingham. She is a gregarious, outgoing young woman, who seems to know most of the freshman on campus already (ok, maybe a slight exaggeration). Our home just is not the same without her.
What I do outside of work? I love old schmaltzy movies and good books, especially classics. I am very involved in our church's music department, mostly as a singer, but I do still play flute. Oh, yes and 2 months ago I started school again after a 30 year haitus. I figured I need to get the piece of paper to back up what I've been doing over the years.
I guess that is it for now. Thanks for reading my bio.
Workplace
I haven't really had a "career", but a series of jobs to contribute income to the household. Since leaving college, I've done clerical work, run an in-home daycare, worked in Food Services for our school district, and even ran paper routes during the seven years that we were involved in homeschool. Three years ago I started to work in the accounting department of our school district, and this is where I plan to work until retirement.
