Sarah's Story
Life
I lived and worked in Manchester, England for a year, graduated with B.A. in Political Science (not so useful), settled in Portland, Maine for a while, joined the Marine Corps (an unlikely choice), and married Levi (who I met in '96 in college)--- to name a few highlights since high school. Now we live in southern California (he's still a Marine; I'm not)and live just a walk to the beach, where Levi surfs every day and I always enjoy. We don't have any kids, but consider Finnegan, Little White Kitty (the cats no doubt), and Lucy (the dog) our "kids". We always miss the East Coast, where my family's settled, but hope to return to Portland someday (if surfing follows). I still love to travel, go to indie/punk shows, go dancing on 80's night, and spend time with friends and family. To sum up, life has been more than good to me! Still young at heart!
School
I loved St. Johnsbury Academy, my...Expand for more
sophomore year, but going to Lisbon afterwards was a real crusher. I kept my friends in Vermont, but always missed going to that school because of the great Art program they had. I took private lessons my last two years of high school and prayed to get out of there. I was very shy then.
I totally broke out of my shell in college. I totally grew out of any shyness that might have been lingering in England. I find myself without a care today, so if I had to "do it all again", I would enjoy not being shy. I think many thought I was a snob and didn't see me as shy, because of the exterior I fronted. That's all I regret.
I had a crush, I'm embarassed to say, on Kip Winger. Yeah, what a sad thing to admit huh? Of course, that later evolved into Morrissey, John Lydon (aka Johnny Rotten), and whatever rock star turned me on...
