One of Scott's favorite quotes is:""You can keep your mouth closed and be thought a fool... Or open it and remove all doubt!"". More about Scott:"I used to watch "Howdy Doody" with "Buffalo Bob" on a 13" black and white television set with GLASS TUBES inside it. I watched the original "Jonny Quest" series, when Race used to get laid, when animation was a skill and cartoons came with story lines. I hid under a desk during the Cuban Missile Crisis to practice surviving a nuclear attack from Castro. I know what "respect" really is and how it's earned. I didn't learn the word from MTV and BET, neither of which have a clue. I understand that a handshake that feels like you just grabbed a twinkie tells even a blind man he's just met someone born after 1975. "Duty" isn't something you pay to bring booze back from Canada. "Honor" is something earned by men (and occassionally women), not some mor...Expand for more
on in a black robe doing a bad television "Judge" show full of social flotsam screaming at each other over broken down Honda Civics. I don't drive the speed limit. I don't stop for stop signs a full three seconds, and sometimes use my turn signals even if I'm the only vehicle on the road. I hold doors for people even a few seconds behind me. I don't walk faster to get to a counter while trying to pretend I'm not. I say "Yes, Sir" and "No, Maam" when I'm speaking to others. I stop to allow people to get into traffic who I see have been waiting awhile because nobody else in this f-ed up world understands the meaning of "courtesy." It was my idea to make dirt washable. I have dinosaur scars. Pot was something you cooked with, a Lid was what you covered your stew with. I know how to say "Ambulance." ...and "Nuclear." "Football" was played on real grass with an oblong ball with REALLY BIG men in padding and helmets, taking severe impacts. NOT Skinny, long legged men who fall down holding their legs in "pain" every time someone kicks them in the shins while booting a black and white sphere called a Soccer Ball. "Walk it off you Pansies!" I can point out Tuvalu and Bangladesh on a map. I understand that worrying about yourself before you worry about society will give you...well, the world we live in now. So...ya, I'm freaking old. I've got maybe 20 years left on the planet.".
