Scott's Story

Life After graduating from Western Boone in 1986, I attended Indiana State University, majoring in music education. During my second year of college, I applied and got offered an Interim Choral Director position at a high school in Nappanee, IN. I moved to Nappanee in January 1989, and taught for 1 1/2 years. I met my wife, Amy in Nappanee. We were married in December of 1990. Even though my experience as a teacher was a good one, I discovered that teaching was not what I wanted to do with the rest of my life. So, I "experiemented" with numerous jobs until landing a management position at a large mail order music company, where I worked for 6 years. All this time, I had also been very active in our church, leading music, small groups, serving on the Deacon board, etc. I was always v...Expand for more
ery comfortable in the church. I began to feel like there was something else that I needed to do with my life. After alot of prayer and discussion with my wife and Pastors, I knew that I was being "called" to full-time Christian ministry. We moved to Ashland, OH in August of 2001, where I enrolled at Ashalnd Theological Seminary. Even though I had not completed my Bachelor's degree, I was "conditionally" accepted into their Master of Divinity program. Three years later, I graduated (with honors!) with my Masters degree! I now live in Bradenton, Fl with my family (wife and 3 children), and I am the Senior Pastor of a small church in the Brethren denomiation that is undergoing a revitalization. It is a tough task, but I finally know that this is what I was supposed to do with my life!
