Scott's Story

Life After graduation from Camelback, I went to the University of Arizona for two years then transferred to Arizona State University. I graduated from Veterinary School at the University of Missouri, in May 1994. I went into the U.S. Army after graduating vet school and was stationed in Schweinfurt, Germany. Spent a year deployed to Bosnia as part of the NATO peacekeeping forces. After that, I was stationed at White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico. I moved to Washinton, D.C. in July 1999 to begin a veterinary pathology residency, but left the program in March 2000. outh Florida in August 2002 and got board certified in Veterinary Preventive Medicine. I went to Airborne School and got my "wings" in November 2002 when I was assigned to the army's only airborne veterinary unit. In January 2004, I married the love of my life, Debra just a few days before deploying to Iraq. Returned from Iraq in January 2005. We moved to Washington, D.C. where I became the assignment officer for the Veterinary Corps. Debra and I had a baby girl, Lauren, in November 2005. I was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel in October 2006. We're moving to Ft. Eustis in June 2007 where I'll take command of a veterinary unit. We're expecting our second child in July.
