Rundown: right after graduation, went off to Spain to live with a family for the summer. Off to Macalester College (major: Classical Civilization and Latin American Studies. No, they in no way go together. Although I have had good Greek food in Costa Rica, if that counts). From there, grad school at Vanderbilt University and the University of Kansas, where I taught Latin American History for several years. like, say, the Bourbon Reforms of the 1740s IN SPANISH at 8 in the morning. Escaped academia and in a bizarre career shift landed a job with the Minnesota Orchestra here in Minneapolis, and sing with them fairly regularly as a member of the Minnesota Chorale. Currently work as Public Relations Manager with One Voice Mixed Chorus in St. Paul. Married to the best of all possible women, Jill, after a "Jane Austen" romance of mutual affection that was never actually expressed for seven years before we finally went on a date. No kids (yet), although we have a cat who could best be described as "the creature who most embodies the essence of evil."
