Scott's Story

Life The then photo was taken in '94 before the Pacific Northwest Teen Square Dance Festival. The same festival I competed in for 8 yrs. The now photo was taken June 2001 at the 50th National Square Dance convention in Anaheim, Ca. I completed three degrees in biochem, chem, and cell and molecular biology with minors in microbiology and botany at the University of Washington. Was going for my PhD, but plans have changed. I am now working in an Orthopedic Surgery Lab, in Indianapolis, which looks at articular cartilage regeneration. School Well...High School had its moments. ed a PhD? Then again, probably not. Reflecting on my college experience, including the one year of grad school, there were things I am glad I did, got to class, and then there are things I am glad I didn't do, rush a fraternity. Overall, my experience in college, if I had to do it again, I wouldn't, because then I would be a different person from who I am now, and I have finally come to grips with who I am, a scholar, an alumnus, and a teacher. Workplace Well, I did finally finish school, back in June of 2003. Completed the first year of Grad School, and decided it wasn't time for Grad School. I am now working in an Orthopedic Surgery Lab at IUPUI in Indianapolis, looking at cartilage degradation in joints, and how to induce regeneration of cartilage in joints through gene therapy.
