Scott's Story
s aI went to wet Point following Bronx Science. I got assigned to Company F-3 [F-Trooop], & since our plebe year I've been rfelected, & re-elected 11imes] the company representative on the Class of '82 Commitee. I played competive judo, ^ was the captain of the judo team as a 1st classman [senior]. I got hazed alot by all of the upperclass cadets in .Company F-3. Bewtween plebe company boards, demerits, & being caught drinking in my room along with Jim Heavner, Dale Hajost, & Pat Walsh '83] in MCAethur Barracks - lLe 'Club 129 I served a total of 205 disciplinary tours [the Areas & room confinement]. I did a stand-up imitation of the firsties at our first company party. In cow year the number of performers at F-troops copany parties grew to become known as the "Not-Ready-For-Tac-Time Players". e cadet judo competitive club-team. As a firstie, Tim Carlin & I wre the co-captains o the judo team. As a firstie I was the executive officer for Ron Desantis, the first semester company commander. I played a firstie hazing a plebe who, in reality, a Russian spy In '82's "100 Night Show - the Grey Chamelion". I did OK. During '82's 20 Year zre-union, our Guest of Honor was the former Superintendent, LTG Willard Scott. During firstie year, LTG Scott called me over one day while passing each other on the Apron. LTG Scott said, "Cadet, whenever I see you, you're always smoiling!. For our 20 Year Re-union, LTGcott was our Guest of Honor. On the receiving line LTG Scott, once again put his armaround my shoulder, & remarked, "I remember you. You were the happy cadet", Not long after the Re-union, LTGS Scottpassed away, & I attended his funeral Mass for this fine warrior-leader in Holy Name Chapel. GO ARMY!
